Septic shock

ICD10: Sepsis, unspecified organism [A41.9]

Treatment: Volume resuscitation

Defined as an acute deterioration and life-threatening physiological dysfunctions in association with infection.

Sepsis should be defined based on Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) criteria or the 'quick' (q)SOFA criteria. 1


Success criteria: 1- MAP more or equal 65mmHg
2- CVP 8-12 mmHg
3- Urine output equal or more 0.5mL/kg/hr
4- ScvO2 equal or more 70%
5- Normal Lactate level
