Irritable bowel syndrome characterised by constipation

ICD10: Irritable bowel syndrome without diarrhea [K58.9]

Treatment: Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation

IBS is a chronic disorder with primary manifestations of abdominal pain or discomfort and a change in bowel habits. It may be relieved with defecation. It may also be associated with abdominal distension, dyspepsia. IBS has a higher prevalence among the young population; especially, women.


Goal: Resolution of symptoms.
How to use this plan: If the patient did not improve, switch to another class. If minimal improvement, add another supporting pharmacological class.
