Amebic infection

ICD10: Amebiasis, unspecified [A06.9]

Treatment: Luminal agents for Asymptomatic patients- only

It's an intestinal infection caused by the protozoan Entamoeba histolytica, it could be either asymptomatic or symptomatic. It can spread hematologically to the liver and cause an abscess.


Clinical goal:

Reduce the risk of developing invasive disease.
